A GYROKINESIS® Master Trainer and GYROTONIC® Pre-Trainer, Charity Ellis has more than twenty five years experience of teaching and studying movement.
Charity is skilled at working with all levels and ages of clients and classes: from those who are looking to supplement existing movement routines or to add a new fitness modality into their lives, as well as those who are looking to re-train their systems due to trauma/anxiety, injury, scoliosis, etc. Charity is certified in the advanced work of both GYROKINESIS® and GYROTONIC® systems, and also on most of the GYROTONIC® Specialized equipment.
With a training background in visual arts and music as well as in dance, hatha yoga, and Qigong, Charity approaches her teaching with the foundational beliefs that active self-care is the first step towards making the world a better place and that one should experience joy in life’s daily movements, be they work or leisure related.
Charity spent many years at San Francisco Gyrotonic with Specialized Master Trainer Debra Rose, where Charity worked not only with private clients and open group classes, but also with the dancers of Alonzo King Lines Ballet/Dominican University BFA program and the Alonzo King Lines Ballet Training Program. It was here where she also developed a love for teaching training courses and specialized workshops. Charity has been based in Berlin, Germany since 2021, offering courses both locally and abroad.
Charity holds an Intermedia Art degree (dance, performance, music, visual art) from Mills College in Oakland, California and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, Massachusetts.
